Built in December 1964 at the BMC Abingdon Works, Austin Healey 3000 MkIII chassis H-BJ8/30197 was delivered in January 1965 to its first owner in Bathurst, Australia, where it spent a large part of its life. This Phase II version of the MkIII, was originally finished in Healey Blue with blue interior, however during the cars restoration 10 years ago it was repainted in its current colour scheme of Colorado Red over Ivory with black leather interior and red piping.
This final and most powerful incarnation of the ‘big’ Healey has just had over £9000.00 spent with a renowned Healey specialist in December of 2010 to include a full lead free conversion with new valves, seat guides, seals and head gasket along with an uprated fuel pump, Kenlowe fan, alternator, electronic ignition, alloy radiator, stainless steel exhaust, overdrive, rebuilt starter motor and alternator kit.
Having come from the dry Australian climate, and only used in the summer since its restoration, this original right-hand drive Healey is ready to use and enjoy. It will be fully prepared through our workshops to include a full road test, service and new MOT
