Offered up for sale here is a great example of the ever-popular Mercedes-Benz W111. This particular car resided in California before returning to Europe (Belgium) in 2006/2007. After being imported to the UK the car was purchased by its current custodian in 2014, a true car enthusiast and long-term Hilton & Moss customer. Since acquiring the car in 2014 the former keeper spent in excess of £10,000 ensuring the car was reliable and useable. Invoices from ourselves are present detailing the various maintenance work carried out throughout his ownership. The car was also garaged and dry stored during this time. The cars history file also has a number of receipts from different specialists detailing works carried out before the previous owner purchased the vehicle along with foreign registration documents and MOT certificates. A copy of the cars original data card and Mercedes-Benz authentication is available. This Mercedes-Benz 220 SEB is fitted with a manual gearbox, which operates seamlessly alongside the 2.2 litre straight six Mercedes engine. Whilst in Belgium the car received a body restoration and full repaint leaving the shell rust free with unfaded/unaged paint work. During this process the car received new front wings and sills. The work was carried out to a good standard, we have inspected and checked the craftsmanship of the repairs. To further compliment the restored body the previous owner fitted new chrome bumpers front and rear along with European specification headlights in place of the US twin units. The car has also had a full overhaul of the interior wood, all being refurbished to a very high standard. The rare original five pleat leather seats and door cards have been restored and recolored. To finish off an already nicely restored interior an original specification biscuit box-weave carpet set has been installed complimenting the beige interior trim perfectly. The car has covered very limited mileage since having brand new period white wall tires fitted along with an overhaul of the brake system. More recently the car underwent a full upgrade of the sound system at a reputable company costing in excess of £2000. This included noise/vibration cancelling insulation and upgraded speakers. All of this work was carried out with a sympathetic attitude to the cars age leaving a tidy and period finish. Since knowing the vehicle, we have carried out various maintenance work including regular services and oil changes despite the limited yearly mileage. We have carried out minor paintwork to small areas in more recent years to ensure this classic Mercedes stays looking its best. This is a very useable W111 that’s had good money spent on its upkeep throughout its life. Its ready to go and a great all-round car that’s capable of presenting well on the lawn of any classic car meet or event.
