Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 OTS

Description

As with all cars that come into the workshop that we have not looked after before, we always suggest a full inspection to the owner to first analyse the entire condition of the car and prioritise investment.

This particular customer had only owned the Jaguar for 3-months and was looking to upgrade the car for regular and reliable use. The inspection revealed common wear and tear which included perished suspension bushes, soft engine mounts, perished rear subframe mounts, worn anti-roll bar bushes and drop links. Once rectified we could begin with the desired enhancements.

We first begun by fitting upgraded adjustable suspension. This was first set for a neutral ride but later adjusted for the customers personal height and dampening preferences. The next upgrade was hydraulic power steering which offered both a good feel and ease of steering at slow speeds.  After careful road-testing and four-wheel alignment, the cars carburettors showed signs of wear and leaking. The triple SU HD8 carburettors were fully stripped, ultra-sonic cleaned, rebuilt and upgraded with revised bushes.

After a final sign off and a thorough service the car was safely transported back to its owner.
