Description
We are proud to offer this magnificent Jaguar XK120 up for sale. The XK120 is a true 1950’s style icon. First revealed in 1948 and manufactured up until 1954 the XK120 was revolutionary and the fastest production car available at its reveal. The curvaceous lines and promising performance figures caused a sensation upon its debut appearance and the car sold very well after being put in production shortly after. The XK120’s played a huge part in the development of Jaguar race cars with three modified variants entering the 1950 24 hour Le Mans race and other examples entering the Mille Miglia and RAC Tourist Trophy. This particular example was manufactured in 1953 and supplied new to the USA finished in Pastel Blue.
The car was imported to the UK and has subsequently had a no expensive spared attitude approach adopted to restore and upgrade the vehicle to a fast road but equally useable specification. During the extensive restoration the car was converted professionally to RHD. The quality of the craftsmanship is confirmed by a comprehensive inspection by our in-house technicians. We have photos displaying the restoration work previously completed. The straight six Jaguar engine has been bored out and modified for fast road use. The car pulls very well with strong power though all of the gears. Uprated to a 5-speed gearbox this XK120 instantly becomes more drivable. The uprated gearbox makes this car even more useable on road trips or road rally’s with its touring capabilities improved. Further upgrades including disc brakes all round give confidence to the driver and an added element of safety to the classic design.
