Description
The team at Hilton & Moss are very pleased to have this beautiful Jaguar XK150 DHC for sale. The Jaguar XK150 as the names suggest superseded the earlier XK140 with production running from 1957 up until 1961. The XK150 most notably advanced Jaguars body styling with a one-piece windscreen and continuous high bodyline through the wings and doors, the car was replaced eventually by the E-Type in 1961 after less than 10,000 cars were built.
This particular XK150 is an early 3.4, 4-speed overdrive example that was first dispatched in 1958 to Jaguar Cars New York. The car has since been fully restored, professionally converted to RHD and fitted with the larger, more desirable 3.8 litre engine. The cars original, matching number engine is available with the car but has not been rebuilt.
Restored over a ten-year period this Jaguar has been a true labour of love for the previous keeper. The result is a beautiful condition car that has had every nut, bolt and washer renewed. Sadly due to ill health the previous keeper never used the vehicle. The team at Hilton & Moss have completed thorough preparation on the car prior to sale for further buyer peace of mind.
During the restoration this XK150 has been sympathetically upgraded for useability. Fitted with 123 electronic ignition, upgraded disc brakes on both front and rear axles, power steering, stainless steel wire wheels, a stainless steel exhaust system, uprated polyurethane suspension bushes and negative earth conversion with alternator update. The result is an incredibly enjoyable, effortless drive and arguably the perfect weekend cruiser or long-distance GT car.
This Jaguar is supplied with its Jaguar Heritage Certificate which confirms the car is finished in its original colour Cornish Grey with grey interior trim and a black soft top hood.
